40 Years, 40 People, 40 Questions

As part of our 40-year anniversary celebrations, we asked 40 people 40 questions to shine a light on September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

As part of our 40-year anniversary celebrations, we asked 40 people 40 questions to shine a light on September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

We spoke with people from all backgrounds and specialties, from nurses on the ward and oncologists in clinic, to PhD students, past board chairs, pharmacists, fertility specialists, and those with lived experience – over the next 30 days, we will be sharing their voices.

Questions like ‘how are 3D tumour models and organoids helping us identify new treatments for aggressive childhood brain cancers?‘ to ‘what gets you up in the morning?’ There is something for everyone.

This campaign reflects a particular collaborative spirit unique to ANZCHOG, cultivated over 40 years of dedication and the delivery of world class clinical trials and care for young people across Australia and New Zealand.

Through these daily conversations, we are highlighting the massive leaps forward in paediatric oncology / haematology, from breakthroughs in clinical trials and precision medicine to the vital importance of survivorship, psychosocial support, and equitable access to care.
