Build it and they will come

We’re a little bit proud of our Central Nervous System (CNS) Tumour Group for having their recent paper published in the Medical Journal of Australia recently! 👏

This team effort by the group highlights the essential role of collaboration, funding and infrastructure in advancing paediatric brain cancer clinical trials…and the barriers there for the breaking.

With support from the Australian Brain Cancer Mission’ focused funding model, ANZCHOG was able to launch or expand 11 paediatric brain cancer trials, build global collaborations, advance international clinical trial access and deliver innovative treatments to our children.

We’re delighted to see this paper published today – here’s what Prof Nick Gottardo, Chair of ANZCHOG, had to say:

“This paper outlines the immense potential of combining collaboration, funding, and commitment in paediatric brain cancer research. With the support of the Australian Brain Cancer Mission, we’ve been able to break down some of the barriers to access and ensure that Australian children with brain tumours benefit from the latest treatment advancements available worldwide. There is so much more work to be done, but we can see that there is a greater chance of success when we work together under more flexible and innovative funding and regulatory models”
