Children’s Cancer Institute Tumour Bank, NSW

Children’s Cancer Institute Tumour Bank has provided regular biobanking for Sydney Children’s Hospital Randwick since 2001, working closely with hospital’s pathology and clinical staff. The CCI Tumour Bank also curates a large number of biomaterials from patients at all ANZCHOG hospitals with neuroblastoma and acute lymphoblastic leukaemia sent to the institute for molecular testing for NMYC or minimal residual disease. In total the bank houses samples from over 7000 paediatric cancer patients diagnosed since 1991, and supports a broad range of translational research studies. Starting in 2017, the CCI Tumour Bank plays a central role in the nationwide Zero Childhood Cancer Personalised Medicine initiative.
