SACHA-International

Secured Access to innovative medicines for CHildren, adolescents and young adults with cAncer
External Registry

Trial Summary

SACHA is an international registry that collects information on new cancer medicines used for children and young adults (up to 25 years old) outside of clinical trials. Because these treatments are used “off-label” or for compassionate use, the study helps doctors understand how safe and effective they are in real-life situations. The registry collects information about the patient’s diagnosis, treatment, side affects and response to therapy. The goal is to learn from these experiences to improve future care and help more patients access innovative therapies
SACHA International is a prospective, multicentre, international observational study designed to monitor the real-world safety and activity of innovative anticancer therapies in pediatric and young adult patients who are not eligible for clinical trials. The primary objective is to document the experiences of children, adolescents and young adults (≤ 25 years old) with paediatric malignancies, non-enrolled in clinical trials, treated with innovative therapies (targeted therapies, immunotherapy or chemotherapy) either as compassionate use of experimental drugs or off-label use of anti-cancer medicines first approved in adults after 2007. The secondary objectives are to evaluate the safety and and activity of these treatments, in real life situations, and inform further use or development of these medicnes. By documenting treatment outcomes, toxicity profiles, and response rates, the registry aims to generate evidence that can inform future clinical trials and regulatory decisions regarding these medicines
