The Queensland Children’s Hospital offers a two-year RACP-accredited advanced training program in Paediatric Oncology, featuring rotations through solid and brain tumours, leukaemia/lymphoma, and bone marrow transplant teams. Fellows receive comprehensive clinical exposure, including clinic, outreach and on-call experience, supported by a structured curriculum, research opportunities, and monthly reflective practice for wellbeing. The program emphasises trainee autonomy and professional development through strong academic links with the University of Queensland and access to multiple research opportunities with specialised research scholarships for trainees with advanced research projects. The Oncology Department has very close collaborations with the Paediatric Palliative Care, non-malignant Haematology and PICU teams at QCH, in addition to an Adolescent and Young Adult Fellowship at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. Oncology trainees often find rotations in these departments to be highly beneficial for learning. The Queensland Children’s Hospital has an excellent workplace culture and was voted one of the 10 best hospitals worldwide in recent years.
