ACCELERATE 2024 Paediatric Oncology Conference

Tuesday 13 February 2024

Last week, ANZCHOG Chair, Prof. Nick Gottardo, CEO, Robyn Strong and lived-experience advocate, Lucy Jones, had the wonderful opportunity to attend the ACCELERATE conference in Brussels. ACCELERATE is a multi-stakeholder organisation with a mission to advance the timely investigation of new anti-cancer drugs. The annual conference outlines the most recent successes in paediatric oncology drug development worldwide.

International collaboration like this is crucial for progressing childhood cancer research and clinical trials, resulting in better outcomes for children in Australia, New Zealand and around the globe.

Prof. Nick Gottardo shared that it was a “great meeting that brought together academia, industry, patient advocates and regulators, working together to speed up the development of innovative therapies for children with cancer”.

ANZCHOG is a non-profit organisation committed to ensuring Australian and New Zealand children receive world-class cancer care. We are the peak professional body for paediatric oncologists and health professionals who care for children with cancer, spearheading national initiatives to enhance clinical care through communication, research, networking and education. We are also the national cooperative clinical trials group for childhood cancer, actively working with trial consortia around the globe to ensure Australian and New Zealand children have the opportunity to access the latest promising cancer treatments.
