SAHMRI & Australian Bragg Centre for Proton Therapy and Research webinar series is being hosted by Julie McCrossin AM, a renowned former ABC radio broadcaster and a survivor of head and neck cancer.

Julie is hosting four webinars on how to improve the radiation experience for patients and families. In each webinar Julie speaks to multidisciplinary cancer team members, patients and family members.

In the first two webinars on Proton Therapy Part 1 and Part 2, they traveled to Rutherford Cancer Centres UK, University College Hospital London NHS Foundation Trust and The Christie NHS Foundation Trust and spoke to Shona Edwards, a young adult treated at the Proton Therapy Centre in Prague.

The third webinar was on the special needs of Children, Adolescents and Young Adults during cancer treatment. They speak to family members and cancer teams at Cancer Centre for Children at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre Melbourne and Women’s and Children’s Hospital Adelaide.

The fourth webinar was about First Nation’s People and what we need to do to Close The Gap. They visit Albury Wodonga Aboriginal Health Service, Royal Adelaide Hospital’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Liaison Unit, Alan Walker Cancer Centre Darwin and Albury Wodonga Regional Cancer Centre. They speak to First Nation’s people supporting Cancer Australia’s work to Close The Gap.
