MNP2.0: Molecular Neuropathology 2.0

Brain tumours

Status: Closed to Recruitment | NSW , QLD , TAS , VIC , WA , SA , New Zealand

There are a range of brain tumours that can occur in children. Correct diagnosis is essential to select the best treatment option, but it is not always easy for pathologists to accurately determine each tumour type. MNP2.0 offers molecular analysis of brain tumours to assist the traditional diagnostic techniques, and provides additional information regarding molecular classification, genetic changes and potential therapeutic targets. Samples of the brain tumour are shipped to Germany and the results provided to treating oncologists in Australia and New Zealand.

Disease Stage: Newly diagnosed

Patient Age Range: Up to 21 years

Trial Sponsors:

  • International: DFKZ (German Cancer Research Centre)
  • National: ANZCHOG

ANZCHOG acknowledges the valuable support of MNP2.0 by the RCD Foundation and Carrie's Beanies for Brain Cancer
